Over millions of years of evolution, humanity has constantly developed its life, economy, culture and social life; in different periods people create miracles and make it a typical civilization. It would be a big mistake not to mention AI – the great invention of mankind in the 21st century. AI is considered an expanded brain when it has applied 100% of its capacity differently from human brain mechanic, so it is gradually becoming a tool to support humanity in many different fields. In particular, today Artificial Intelligence is creeping into the art market – which is considered a “sacred land” dedicated to human creativity.
For this market, AI technology brought humanity to a new level when Jason Allen’s painting Théâtre D’opéra Spatial was awarded first prize at the Colorado State Art Fair (USA). This work was made by AI and has surpassed a series of other real artists to win the award. The picture is built from a few simple lines of code with the Midjourney program based on the Discord platform but created a strong reaction in the art world. Similar to Midjourney, we have OpenAl’s Dall – E application, the artist only needs to describe the painting’s features in text, then the AI program will systematize it into the image as the author wants. Besides, in the graphic design industry, it takes a lot of time and effort as well as meticulousness to satisfy the requirements of customers, so programmed AI applications like Midjourney will create a big turning point help designers save time as well as increase accuracy for drawings.
However, beyond the dominant features, as well as the benefits of Artificial Intelligence, it brings many many controversial opinions in the artistic field. Because a lot of people think AI can replace the real artist, their work is threatened by invisible artificial systems. In addition, some points of view that technology can cause a problem of plagiarism when drawings based on available artworks and creations from the platform are not unique to artists. However, we cannot deny AI’s their growth and great potential, and it’s created from human intelligence and serves the genetic evolution of society.
In this field, artificial intelligence can be equal to or outstanding to art artists, but it can not have their own unique. Therefore, it’s possible to tell AI supports the artist to make the artwork multidimensional and more vivid than the ability to completely replace people. Artificial Intelligence is a dominant rise in human progress, and in the future, that promises to be a coherent combination of people and machines that create new masterpieces for humanity.
Most recently, in addition to artificial intelligence being able to draw, it can also create content by writing books, this special ability has been used by author Nguyen Phi Van to create the book “NYM – My Future Self”. This is the first book born by the combination of AI and human intelligence in Vietnam, which confirms the infinite possibilities and unpredictable explosion of the artificial brain in the future. Maybe in the near future, AI will constantly advance in the footsteps of humanity with many new applications such as writing music, making movies, and performing,… in the art world.
